We are inviting you to join our FREE workshop of “Velocity Modelling and Depth Conversion” in Jakarta, held at the Intercontinental Hotel Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 10-11, Kota Jakarta Pusat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 10220, Indonesia .
The 2 day workshop will be held in two batches. The first workshop will take place from 20th to 21st September and the second will be held on the 22nd and 23rd September 2016.
IHS Kingdom is the most widely geophysical interpretation software in the world. The depth conversion module VelPAK is designed to satisfy the velocity modelling and surface depth conversion needs of the seismic interpreter. It is developed by Equipoise Software and licensed as part of IHS KINGDOM software.
Geophysicists and geologists are able to use VelPAK to make confident decisions on where to drill for oil and gas. This workshop will help you to use interpretational tools based on unique and patented algorithms.
The workshop will be run by Andy Allison, a Principle Geoscientist at our sister company ERCe, and supported by our Account Executive – Dan Williams.
The focus of the first day will be to introduce the first principles of depth conversion and we start the workshop with an exercise in Excel titled ‘My first Depth Conversion’. The course then covers the theory and use of Well Velocities, and how these many be analysed and be used as part of a single well model, or in a multiple well model. The second day of the workshop looks into the use of seismic velocities, and we cover some things to remember about seismic velocities and then move on to the analysis of them, and how VelPAK can utilise them to create Pseudo-wells. The final session of the course looks into how the software can calculate a constrained Monte Carlo simulation around your best technical case model, to assess the uncertainty associated with your depth conversion.
