SEG International Exposition and 86th Annual Meeting Dallas 2016

The 86th Annual SEG Exposition is held this year in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Centre, Dallas, Texas.  Thousands of professionals across the geoscience discipline, from over 70 countries worldwide, will be meeting to discuss the latest information, products and new business development opportunities across the industry.

With the price of oil stabilising to a new price point since its sharp drop in price in 2014, many companies have now completed their process of restructuring to re-align themselves to the current market situation. 2017 therefore heralds the opportunity for investment in technical improvement, and to better understand the recent developments in technology across the sector.

To that end, we have been busy this year refining and adding to the capabilities of our Wizard module in Velit/VelPAK and will be showcasing the software at the exposition.

Depth conversion is an iterative pursuit, and the ability to probe your data with a range of different techniques, quickly and easily, helps you work efficiently to create accurate velocity models. The new release of the software enables you to run a series of blind well tests, per layer, in order to determine the best function.  The upcoming release also enables you to perform the Monte Carlo Multiple Realisation process through the Wizard, with automatic spill point generation and lever analysis empowering you to qualify and quantify the uncertainty associated with the depth conversion. Assessment of the parametric variation provides you with the P10/P50/P90 range, as well as a probability of closure map and the strength of your best technical case vs the P50 case.

If you are attending the conference and depth conversion, including the associated uncertainty, is of keen interest to you, then please contact us to schedule a demonstration our of depth conversion software, our seismic inversion software, or both, on sales@equipoisesoftware.com
