Depth Conversion | Seismic Inversion | International Exposition 2019

SEG International Exposition and 89th Annual Meeting San Antonio 2019

The 89th Annual SEG Exposition is held this year at the Henry B. Gonzalex Convention Center, in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The conference schedule is divided into five key areas that include: The main technical programme, Ancillary Education Sessions, Business of Applied Geophysics Plenary Sessions, Continuing Education and Postconvention Workshops. This year’s conference showcases a diverse series of sessions with 1,070 presentations comprising the mainstay of the event. There are 8 special sessions and 1 special global session that focus on the steps required in the industry to proactively manage the energy transition to a greener tomorrow.

Near surface geophysics is a topic for a panel discussion event, focusing on recent methodologies and advancements in solving near-surface problems with engineering and geophysics and how these techniques also have scope for archaeological and forensic applications.

Great leaders from different disciplines are brought together in this high-profile event in the geoscience calendar to provide guidance and support to the student programme, not to mention a chance to meet them during networking opportunity sessions, at the social events and on the exposition floor.

The $60 mark is where the oil price seems to be stabilising around and with an optimistic looking business climate in the United States, the potential for capital expenditure in exploration around a number of onshore US plays makes the upcoming year set to see growth in several key basins. More emphasis must be placed on the capital losses associated with mis-placed wells, in order to maintain profitability in the sector of such tight financial margins at present.

Accurate time to depth conversion is ever more significant, especially as we move into deeper, more geologically complex areas, where the sensitivity of the velocity model becomes more crucial for robust prediction of depth.

We will be demonstrating the recent developments in Kingdom VelPAK and Velit for Petrel, including the grid-based calibration of seismic processing velocities, the Reporting module and a number of user focused enhancements aimed at making the software quicker to process in several key areas.

We will also be discussing our upcoming roadmap for our Pre-Stack Inversion module that will feature as part of the 2020 release of Kingdom Seismic Inversion and InSeis for Petrel.

If you would like to come and see how we can help you make the right decisions in depth and see the results for yourself, then you can contact us to arrange a private demonstration at

We look forward to seeing you there!
