EAGE 80th Annual Meeting: Copenhagen 2018

This year, the 80th Annual EAGE Exposition is held in the Bella Convention Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. The exposition package encompasses a multi-disciplinary technical programme, with several executive forums discussing hot topics, the main industry faces supporting the exhibition, short courses, workshops, field trips, special interest meetings, student focused events and of course the fantastic conference evening.

The ‘Start-up area’ sees its return after it was successfully introduced last year, which was a popular initiative where innovative new companies with fresh ideas are given the opportunity to introduce their products to the wider geoscience community.

There is an additional focus this year on enhancing the content of the petroleum geology in the technical programme to showcase the significance of the discipline in resolving issues within exploration and production that are in progressively more complex geological scenarios.

This year we will be on the IHS Markit Stand 1161 discussing how our depth conversion and seismic inversion modules (available on Kingdom or Petrel geoscience platforms) can help you produce robust velocity models that specifically encompass complex structures and subsequently determine the impedance values of them too.

VelPAK/Velit 2018 enables you to iteratively create a Best Technical Case velocity model, that conforms with any geology in your area of interest, be it simple to complex. You can then create a series of stochastic Monte Carlo realisations that will give you confident predictive accuracy of the depths, size, shape and scale of your reservoir. This can help mitigate against misplaced wells and provide you with the P10/P50/P90 ranges for economic assessment of your prospects.

Seismic Inversion/InSeis 2018 creates high resolution Relative, Absolute and Synthetic impedance volumes that are quick and easy to generate. These are ideal for prospect evaluation as the high quality post-stack volume can save you having to perform a full pre-stack inversion.
