PETEX 2018

PETEX 2018, running bi-annually for the previous 27 years, is this year held at London’s Olympia conference centre between the 27th – 29th November 2018. The title for this year’s event is ‘A New Optimism’, with the upward trend in the price of oil reflecting the mood in the industry. The exhibition brings together key industry figures from a range of disciplines, to share their knowledge and guidance, as well as the exhibition floor and social events providing networking opportunities.

This year’s technical programme aims to highlight recent developments in subsurface technology in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas, with the conference expected to encourage lively debate and thought-provoking discussion.

The conference timetable is divided into 4 key areas of focus:

  1. Strategy & Risk
  2. Technology & Case Examples
  3. New Frontier Exploration
  4. Collaboration

With the oil price returning to a point whereby the UK Continental Shelf operations are starting to look viable, there are exciting opportunities opening in the Exploration Geophysics world.

New frontier exploration in the North and South Atlantic Margin will require velocity models to be made from very little data, and this is an area in which our software excels, especially with reference to new technological advancements and Risk Reduction capabilities!

At the show we will be demonstrating the most recent developments of our software on the S&P Global stand A6.

Enhancements to Velit for Petrel and VelPAK for Kingdom feature an updated gridding system, Seismic Velocity calibration, enhancements to the Wizard, along with a number of usability and display improvements in the package.

InSeis for Petrel and Kingdom Seismic Inversion have been augmented with a new Average Wavelet capability that enables you to derive a wavelet per well and combine them together to cover the spatial variation within a specific time window, in your survey area.

If you would like to see the how we can help you improve the accuracy of your Depth Conversion models, or provide you with a high resolution seismic inversion, then please contact us on sales@equipoisesoftware.com to arrange a private demonstration.

We look forward to seeing you there!
